When Biggie smalls died i remember not really fully being able to understand the depth of what just happened. I mean, i was young REAL YOUNG. I do however remember feeling sad, real sad. I'm not gonna lie i think i was more sad to see the reaction and sadness of others due to the loss of a rap phenomenon, somebody people had genuinely loved through his music. A guy who exuded positive energy even through the gritty, hardcore, raps about snatching chains and busting guns, and rap beef between him and Tupac. People could see through all of that and still see that Biggie was a GOOD man. I remember seeing the crowds of people crying as his casket passed them by and proceeded down Fulton street, where his career began with freestyles and rap battles in front of corner stores. I can also remember seeing people dancing as his music blared from speakers in apartment windows, parked cars, etc. I was young, but as i got older and music evolved and changed over the years i realized that we lost someone we can never replace, and never get back due to senselessness.

Shakir Stewart, The V.P. Of Def Jam Records Commits Suicide.

Shakir Stewart who is the V.P. of Def Jam and successor of Jay Z in June has reportedly committed suicide. Im hearing a single gunshot to the head. He's said to be responsible for signing artists like Young Jeezy, And Rick Ross.

"Def Jam executive VP Shakir Stewart reportedly committed suicide today (Nov. 1) in Atlanta, according to sources. No other details were available at deadline.

"L.A. Reid and all of us at Island Def Jam Music Group are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague Shakir Stewart," read a statement sent from the label today. "Shakir was an amazing man in every sense of the word. A truly incredible friend and father who was an inspiration to not only our artists and employees, but to his family and the many people that had the privilege of counting him as a friend. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family at this very difficult time."

Jennifer Hudson's Mom And Brother Found Dead

This is truly sad. Today around 2:40pm Jennifer Hudsons Cousin Walked Into Hudson's mother's house and discovered both J. Hud's mother and brother slain on the floor of the house in Chicago. I also heard that theres a amber out for Jennifer's 7 Year Old Nephew who might have been taken from the house.

Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson said a family member entered the home around 3 p.m. Friday, found a woman fatally shot on the living room floor and left to notify authorities. Responding officers found a man fatally shot in the bedroom, Patterson said. There was no sign of forced entry.

The Cook County medical examiner's office says officials were dispatched Friday afternoon to the house.

DR. DRE'S SON DEAD AT 20 YEARS OLD

I just read this on the MTV website.

Andre Romelle Young Jr., the son of rapper and pioneering hip-hop producer Dr. Dre, was found dead in his Woodland Hills, California, home Saturday morning, according to Dre's representative. He was 20 years old.

An autopsy was conducted on Young's body Monday, but a cause of death has not yet been determined, pending the results of a toxicology report, a representative for the Los Angeles County Coroner's office told MTV News. The coroner's rep confirmed that an Andre Romelle Young Jr. passed away Saturday, but was uncertain if he was Dre's son; Dre's rep confirmed that information Tuesday (August 26).

Young was discovered in his bed at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday by his mother, who attempted to rouse him, the coroner's spokesperson said. Young was unresponsive, so she called paramedics, who responded to the scene. After their efforts to revive him failed, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Then the article goes on to say that Dr. Dre's myspace page is flooded with condolences...
